HISTORIC DOCUMENT: Constitutional Court Decision no.3 of 22/10/2003 to confirm the result of the national referendum of 18 -19/10/2003 with regard to the Law for the revision of the Constitution of Romania ("Hotărâre pentru confirmarea rezultatului referendumului naţional din 18-19 octombrie 2003 privind Legea de revizuire a Constituţiei României"). The Court, after examining the data received from the Central Elections Bureau with regard to the referendum of 18 - 19/10/2003, took act that 9,938,441 out of the 17,842,103 registered voters (55.70%) attended the referendum. It also took act that 8,915,022 (89.70%) out of the 9,938,441 voters that attended the referendum voted "Yes" for the revision, 875,172 (8.81%) voted "No" while 148,247 (1.49%) of the votes have been considered as being null. Based on the results the Court found that more than 50% of the registered voters attended the referendum and that the majority of them voted "Yes" and so confirmed the result of the national referendum of 18 - 19/10/2003 and took act that the Law for the revision of the Constitution of Romania, published in "Monitorul Oficial" of Romania, Part I, no.669 of 22/09/2003, has been approved by referendum.
