Law 6684 of March 30, 2002 amends the Small and Medium Enterprise Cooperatives Act. Prohibits the Small and Medium Enterprise Cooperatives from being involved in election for public offices, and prohibits elected public officials from being appointed as full-time employees, directors and chairman of the cooperatives, the business cooperatives, the cooperative federation and the national cooperative for the purpose of maintaining political neutralism; and provides that the Administrator of the Small and Medium Business Administration may preferably support the cooperatives and the cooperative federation in order to promote active operation if they are well organized to perform their activities properly.(44articles; 18-31pp.)
