Law 1857 of December 27, 1966 enacts the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology Promotion Act. Aims to contribute to science promotion and industrial technology development by protecting and fostering the Korea Institute of Science and Technology("KIST") which is a foundation established as a joint project between the Korean and US governments for the purpose of performing synthetic examine, research, and experiment in respect to the matters of scientific technology and industrial economy, and to propagate its results. Allows the government to make contributions to be appropriated to funds necessary for establishment and operation of KIST; and allows the government to rent governmental property free of charge to KIST.
