Summary (English)	An Act to amend the Canada Elections Act, S.C. 1998, c. 18, received Royal Assent on 11 June 1998, and allows the Chief Justice Electoral Officer to authorize the presentation of an electoral candidate’s claim after the prescribed time and its payment, and the late filing of a candidate’s elections return and corrections within election time. The Act came into force upon Royal Assent. (Bill C-411, 7 sections, pp. 384-389).
(French)	La Loi modifiant la Loi électorale du Canada, L.C. 1998, ch. 18, a reçu la sanction royale le 11 juin 1998, et elle permet au directeur général des élections d'autoriser la présentation et le paiement de réclamations d'un candidat électoral hors des délais, puis le dépôt lors des délais du rapport et de la déclaration d'un candidat et celle de corrections du rapport si ce dernier a été produit dans les délais. La Loi est entrée en vigueur après avoir reçu la sanction royale (projet de loi C 411, 7 articles, p. 384 à 389).
