The Nurses Law contains 57 articles and was promulgated by the President on 17 May 1991. The law is comprised of seven chapters:
Chapter 1, general provisions (Articles 1 through 7) Chapter 2, practice (Articles 8 through 13) Chapter 3, establishment and management of nursing institutions (Articles 14 through 23) Chapter 4, operation and responsibility (Articles 24 through 28) Chapter 5, penalties (Articles 29 through 42) Chapter 6, guild (Articles 43 through 55) Chapter 7, supplementary provisions.
