Law no.92 of 24/07/1996 ("Legea 92/1996 privind organizarea şi funcţionarea Serviciului de Telecomunicaţii Speciale") regulates the functioning of Special Telecommunications Service. In 5 chapters the Law states the activity of the specialized institution for the organization and coordination of special telecommunication activity for public institutions. The Special Telecommunications Service has military structure and is under the control of the Parliamentary Committees for Defense, Public Order and National Security.
