The Native Peoples Education Law contains 33 articles and was promulgated by the President on 17 June 1998. The enactment of the law is accordance with the provision of Article 10, the additional and amended articles of the Constitutional Law stating that the government shall safeguard native peoples' right to ethic education and upgrade their culture of ethnic education based on their will. The law is comprised of 7 chapters:
